The Cleveland (they own the airport) has, and is offering a terrible contract to the residents which gives them air rights over the home (over 157 ft) any the residents get additional insulation and possibly air-conditioning (with no gaurantees with regard to noise reduction or workmanship). To get this, the home owner gives up (in addition to air rights) the right to complain or object to any noise or pollution generated by anything flying over the home. We believe it to be a terrible contract (totally one-sided) and is just a way of buying off opposition. What I am interested in finding out is if other contracts are as one-sided or are they offering their residents some real measurable noise reductions with this program. Just some more amunition for the press and the residents to help get them worked up even more if Cleveland is not even offering what other communities are being offered. Our US Congressman has managed to orchestrate a meeting between our city and ta Deputy Administartor for Airports at the FAA in Washington so that we can get some questions answered and present our technical evaluations in person. More infor for you if the above is not enough! Thanks, Marv Hirschberg
