As I listened to both sided passionately stating there views, I realized there is a win- win solution for everyone. The Unions and Businesses stated they need a world class airport. The residents who live in the historic districts and surrounding area's in San Jose and Santa Clara won't be able to live in these areas if the airport is expanded. The Noise, Air and Environmental pollution will be too great to live in. Yes.. you can insulated homes from noise but you can't insulate our property that Californian's so love to spend time in - the outdoors. Solution A. ---------- Move the Airport to an area outside of downtown San Jose-possibly South County. Check out what Denver did .... this makes the businesses happy, union happy and the residents that would have been affected happy. Solution B. ---------- Moffet Field becomes the new airport- runways are there, jet path can go over the bay to prevent noise to residents and there is room for multi terminals. This makes the businesses happy, union happy and the residents that would have been affected happy. Solution C. ----------- The City of San Jose buys every home in the affected areas at the market values TODAY for anyone who wants to sell, helps with mortaging and relocation. San Jose can develop, demolish or ? this property. This makes the businesses happy, union happy and the residents that would have been affected happy. Please help us. I've lived here all my life, along with my family and children. Our beautiful old home will nothing if we can't enjoy it or our yards. Please do the RIGHT thing, we residents are just as important as the businesses, don't expand the airport where it is today. Yes, our airport today does produce jobs, transportation and a service to all of us valleyites. Airport expansion will INCREASE: MORE AIR and NOISE POLLUTION Freeway GRIDLOCK, 880, 101, Guadalupe Exp and 280. Surface Road CONGESTION Intersection OVERLOAD Wake up Fred and San Jose, this affects Hundreds of Thousands of people. Everyone should be aware of the Airports' NO PROJECT ALTERNATIVE: No new major developments, the existing airport can still accomodate additional carrier operations, with the least impact on air pollution, traffic and quality of life for the residential communities surrounding the airport. ***************************************************** What happened to the city of San Jose preserving the quality of life for everyone who lives here ?
